It's Fate

It's Fate!! Most will argue, there is no way that Harry could like Ginny ever. He is the hero and the obvious choice for him is the heroine of the books so far, Hermione. Unfortunately for these few people, the evidence in the books supports the contrary. First off, Ginny practically loves the guy already. It probably first began as a crush on the boy she had always heard about in stories. Some say she is merely a groupie, but when is the last time you saw her running around with a camera after Harry like Colin Creevey? She has never stalked him, which is practically what Colin does. In all classic romances, the hero usually ends up rescuing his true love, well he already did it. The second that Ginny Weasley seriously entered the HP stories, she was catapulted into the storyline, although somewhat secretly. She ended up being taken by the enemy, leaving Harry to rescue her. This presents another issue. As Dumbledore discusses with Harry in the Prisoner of Azkaban, whenever a wizard saves another wizards life, a bond is formed between them. A very strong bond that cannot be easily broken. I believe this bond is definitely in place and may pop up in later books. Why would JK Rowling choose to make Ginny connected with Harry if it weren't to develop their relationship further when they were older? This presents another point, JK Rowling has already stated that in book 5, hormones will run wild and that Ginny will be in book 5 more prominently than in the last 3. Given the obvious tip-offs by JK Rowling that Ron and Hermione will end up together (Ron's jealousy over Krum, their constant bickering, Ron noticing Hermione as a 'girl'), it is given that Ginny could possibly end up with Harry. Many also bring up the issue of Cho Chang. Well, as far as I'm concerned, she would not fit very easily into the future of the HP books. She is in a different house, one year older, and most of all, Cedric was her boyfriend. I believe Harry's crush died the second Cedric did. Ginny is much more workable into the storyline, she is a Gryffindor and Ron's little sister. I know its a little cliché, but it is somewhat tradition in many stories for the hero to fall for his best friend's little sister. I don't want Ginny to be cliché, but it is a valid point that happens in a lot of stories. The Weasley family is huge and they only have one girl? Makes it kind of obvious that Harry might actually be family one day. I also believe that once Ron and Hermione begin to grow together in their relationship, Harry will be looking for companionship elsewhere, the logical choice is Ginny. She has already formed a strong friendship with Hermione and is most likely hanging out with her more often. We saw she already started to be more involved with the trio at the beginnings of book 4. This link to the group will probably bring her closer to them all. Some other spooky similarities to back up this relationship are that Ginny and Harry's mom, Lily, have the same auburn hair. Lastly, Harry and Ginny do have a great deal in common. They both are survivors of Voldemort. Ginny and Harry both blame themselves for things happening around them. Honestly, it's just Fate! |
