Analytical - Quidditch: A Bond?

In a world of turmoil, 'luxuries' like professional sports are non-existent. Things are fragmented, disordered, and lack organization. Such is war. With Voldemort's return, I would venture to say that Quidditch will be one of the very first things to go. Why is this important? What does this even have to do with H/G?

Aside from being a past time, Quidditch is also a symbol of unity. It represents strength in numbers, and the combined forces of allies against a common enemy. Each match is like a battle, with the ever-present competition and a furious sense of excitement like no other. There is not much in the Wizarding World that bonds individuals, but Quidditch is one of the few rare things that is capable of bringing together fans of all ages and classes, Pureblood or Muggleborn. Such power - or motivation, I should say, is a potential threat to Voldemort.

Now, Harry and Ginny have both taken their turn as Seeker, the most prestigious (if not pivotal) role on any Quidditch team. Of course, Harry is still the better Seeker, but Ginny is quite competent and can hold her own - they are on the same level, so to speak. Harry was banned from the team while Ginny played, so they shared no intimate locker room discussions (more's the pity) but the sense of belonging to the same team was there nonetheless. Although she's only 'temporarily replaced' him, her stint as Seeker established a very important possibility: Ginny can take over for Harry if he should go down.

Realistically, it doesn't mean that Ginny will be the one to do Voldemort in - the prophecy has clearly stated only Harry can accomplish that - but it does symbolically imply that Ginny is capable of being a 'second' of sorts (ie, in a wizarding duel). This is the kind of strength that Harry needs in a friend, or even in - dare I say it? - a lover.
